Madhya Pradesh Flying Club (MPFC) fees: the official Rs 42.15 lakh CPL estimate, fleet, and Bhopal-Indore bases

Vinay Raibole · September 7, 2023

The Madhya Pradesh Flying Club’s official CPL estimate is Rs 42,15,500, published on the club’s own course page with a line-item breakdown and an installment schedule. The club flags the figure as tentative because flying charges are dynamic and move with fuel prices, but this is the number MPFC itself quotes, not a third-party guess. Older figures of Rs 30-35 lakh that still circulate online (including in an earlier version of this article) are out of date.

Here is the club at a glance, verified from mpfc.in and the DGCA approved-FTO list as of August 2026:

The official CPL fee breakdown

MPFC publishes this itemised estimate on its CPL course page:

ItemRateAmount
Membership fee-Rs 40,500
Flying training, 185 hours on single-engine aircraftRs 18,000/hrRs 33,30,000
Instructional flying, about 75 hoursRs 600/hrRs 45,000
Flying training on multi-engine aircraft, 15 hoursRs 45,000/hrRs 6,75,000
Simulator, 10 hours single-engineRs 3,000/hrRs 30,000
Simulator, 10 hours multi-engineRs 3,500/hrRs 35,000
Other expenses (FRTOL, SPL, RT, ELP, medical, DGCA CPL issue)-~Rs 60,000
TotalRs 42,15,500

Two caveats the club itself prints. First, the estimate is based on current flying rates, and whatever rate is ruling when you actually fly is what applies. Second, the refund policy deducts the security deposit, flying already done, and dues, with disbursement within two months of the final computation.

The installment schedule

You do not pay Rs 42 lakh upfront. The published schedule is:

InstallmentAmountWhen
At admissionRs 40,500Before the trainee kit is issued
1stRs 8,00,000Before flying starts
2ndRs 8,00,0003 months or 20 hours, whichever is earlier
3rdRs 8,00,0005 months or 75 hours, whichever is earlier
4thRs 8,00,0007 months or 100 hours, whichever is earlier
5thRs 8,00,0009 months or 150 hours, whichever is earlier
Final settlement~Rs 1,75,000Balance due at the end

One thing MPFC does not publish online: hostel or accommodation charges. Neither base lists boarding fees on the website, so budget for accommodation in Indore or Bhopal separately and confirm options directly with the club on the numbers above before you plan your finances.

Other published charges

  • PPL ground classes: Rs 1,10,000 total (Technical General Rs 35,000, Navigation Rs 35,000, Meteorology Rs 20,000, Regulation Rs 20,000), per the PPL page. PPL flight training is a minimum of 40 hours dual and solo.
  • Multi-engine rating: Rs 45,000 per flying hour, roughly a 2-week course, per the multi-engine rating page.
  • Simulator: Rs 3,000 per hour single-engine, Rs 3,500 per hour multi-engine, per the simulator page.
  • English Language Proficiency (ELP): Rs 25,000. Membership renewal or conversion: Rs 2,500.

Operating bases: Indore and Bhopal

MPFC is one of the few Indian flying clubs training at two bases at once. The DGCA approved-FTO list (as on 30 March 2026) records both:

  1. Indore: Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport, Civil Aerodrome, Bijasan Road, Indore 452005. The club’s main office and inquiry lines sit here.
  2. Bhopal: State Hangar, Raja Bhoj Airport, Bairagarh, Bhopal 462030.

A common confusion worth clearing up: other Madhya Pradesh airfields that appear in flying-school searches are not MPFC bases. Dhana airstrip in Sagar, Khajuraho Airport, and Guna Airport all belong to other DGCA-approved FTOs. If you want to train with MPFC, your options are Indore and Bhopal.

Fleet

Madhya Pradesh Flying Club training aircraft

The DGCA list records 8 aircraft on MPFC’s approval:

TypeRegistrationsRole
Cessna 152VT-ACE, VT-ENEBasic single-engine training
Cessna 172VT-ACT, VT-ACK, VT-MPF, VT-ACPSingle-engine and cross-country training
Beech Baron G58VT-ACXMulti-engine training
Partenavia P-68VT-TAEMulti-engine training

Both bases also run DGCA-approved simulators (single-engine and multi-engine), which is where the 20 simulator hours in the CPL fee table happen.

Admission process: clear your DGCA papers first

MPFC’s published induction process is unusual among Indian FTOs in that selection merit is built on your DGCA CPL theory results, not an entrance exam of the club’s own:

Diagram: MPFC admission process from DGCA CPL papers to starting flying training

  • A maximum of around 20 trainees are selected for the Indore and Bhopal bases combined, and only one batch a year (numbers can vary with capacity, and a standby list covers dropouts).
  • Merit is ranked on DGCA CPL paper marks and the number of attempts you took to clear them, so pass Air Regulation, Navigation, Meteorology, and the rest before applying. Our guide to study materials for the CPL exams covers how to prepare.
  • The admission Google Form is circulated on the club’s Instagram page (mpflyingclub) before shortlisting, and the merit list is published there too.
  • Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview, and final selections are informed by mail to complete admission.

Eligibility

  • CPL: 10+2, HSC, or equivalent with Maths and Physics. Minimum age 16 to start training, 18 for DGCA licence issue. A DGCA Class 1 medical from an approved examiner. Since the Class 1 is the hard gate of the whole pathway, clear it before you spend on training.
  • PPL: 10th pass, age 16, Class 2 medical, minimum 40 hours of flight training.

How long does it actually take

The club quotes 5 to 6 months for ground classes, and its installment schedule maps the flying to about 9 months for the first 150 hours. Treat that as the on-paper pace: the DGCA CPL needs 200 hours, and real-world completion at any Indian FTO stretches with aircraft availability, weather, and your own exam readiness, so plan your budget and timeline with slack beyond the printed schedule. For comparison with a larger government academy on cost and structure, see our IGRUA cost and eligibility guide.

MPFC is a fee-for-training club, not a cadet program: there is no airline placement attached, and after your CPL you compete in the open market on the strength of your licence, ratings, and logbook.

Verify before you pay

Fee tables at every Indian FTO move with fuel prices, and MPFC marks its own numbers as tentative. Before transferring any installment, confirm the current rates directly: Indore 0731-2621118 or 7415011183, Bhopal +91-7552646464, or the inquiry form on mpfc.in.

From your first training sortie, your logged hours are the record everything else builds on. Wingman is a digital pilot logbook used by 30,000+ pilots that keeps your hours, currency, and licence details DGCA-ready from day one, free up to 250 hours.
